16/3/09 15:59You can have my Scrivener, Mellel, and NeoOffice when you pry them from my cold dead typing fingers.
But, oh dear, I will admit that editing is probably easier when everyone has the same software.
Will download the latest NeoOffice when I get home to see if that will, after all, display comments correctly. I had to buy Office once in grad school because I needed MS Access; I very much don't want to have to buy it again. (And THAT is on a laptop with half the keys missing that can't go half an hour without crashing; no luck there.)

17/3/09 12:26 (UTC)I seem to remember OpenOffice handling track changes/commenting between Macs and PCs; it was a while ago, though, so don't quote me on it.

17/3/09 14:05 (UTC)One more try.
Why doesn't MSWord let me print out just the comments, or copy just the comments to a clipboard? My last resort is going to be spending the cash to print the whole thing from the library computers. Yeah, I can use the staff printers for the occasional personal print-out, but I'm not going to print out 187 pages when they're looking for reasons to lay people off.

17/3/09 14:49 (UTC)Really, I'm thrilled that I have a free open-source alternative that I can use, that is approximately 99% compatible with The One I Hate, but that last 1% is killing me here.
