owlectomy: A squashed panda sewing a squashed panda (DoctorWho)
Next season of Doctor Who news.

Whoever's making that show has a direct pipeline into my head. I'd complain, but it's having such nice results. Anthony Head (Giles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer) in an episode? Head explodey. Head good explodey.

Aren't I glad now that I have an R2 DVD player? (It OUGHT to come out on R1, but I've seen no signs of that as yet. I can be patient if I must.)

So, um, THAT was good.

Some actual coherent thoughts, or near-coherent ones:

1) The Doctor is Vash the Stampede. No, really, I mean it! Profoundly silly because they have seen too much worth being serious about, profoundly compassionate because they have seen too much suffering, and with the core of darkness that comes from knowing that they were responsible for much of that suffering--paired with a moral duty to make the world a better place, and a real joy in doing so. Plus they radiate a +3 force field of Sheer Coolness.

2) The kisses! No spoilers, but boy, did I not see THAT one coming. I shall now giggle and gibber like an idiot. There goes my brain into a puddle of goo for the rest of the evening.

3) I am sad to see Christopher Eccleston go. It's a slight consolation that the new Doctor is, well... hot. Now, don't get me wrong, Eccleston is cute. But cute in a way that's more 'radiating with platonic charisma' than 'I wouldn't kick him out of my bed.' Kisses nonwithstanding.

4) No, really, am I going to be left alone in my stupid obsession? I can burn CDs for people! Free CDs for everyone! What on EARTH was the Sci-Fi channel thinking, not picking up this series? Oh, yes, sure, let's show HORROR movies all day, and some idiot who thinks he's psychic, rather than a remarkably well-written series that's actually science fiction. Feh! Feh, I say.
