So, after announcing my mathematically sound plan to have a first draft finished by January 1, I had a brainstorm that meant that thematically, aesthetically, structurally, the whole thing would be much better if I rewrote it from the ground up.

I hate it when that happens.

But I'm having fun with it so far. I know that Innocent Girl at Evil School is overplayed, and I'm trying to keep it from turning into that, but if I fail it's still an Innocent Girl at Evil School story with socialist-steampunkish-Japan flavors. And a focus on friendship rather than just romance as a way out of Evil School.

...And will I ever stop trying to write Utena, seeing as how Akio is the dean of the school?

Oh: and if I write 600 words a day, which I won't, I could still finish by January 1st. Aiming for March 1st now, and fortunately I don't have a deadline yet.
