One of my several roomates is a law student. He is extremely smart, and he is extremely good at deploying the twin Lawyer Powers of Knowledge and Yelling in order to get things done. We finally have internet, and for reasons I only wish I understood, it took a lot of Yelling to make that happen. But I didn't have to yell at anybody. And now he is on the phone going O Hai I Know Tenant Laws (relating to things that aren't especially serious, but I've just been sighing at, 'cause it's been hard enough attempting to get my plumbing fixed.)

Not that I'm having him fight my battles for me or anything - they're his battles that he wants to fight, and I just have the luck of being on the same side. Lawyers: they don't totally suck.

Except for blocking and weaving in ends, I have finished with one of my fingerless gloves. I think it should be very cute when done - it's in a variegated plum yarn with shades of lavender and merlot and blackberry. And soft, even though I didn't spring for the recommended "cashmerino" yarn.

Woo-hoo! Then it may actually be something I can do! Thumb aside, that is. But it's tiny so if I have to rip out stitched then it's not like I have to start again from scratch.

(Once I re-teach myself how to do basic stitches again, that is.)
