I should have thought harder before starting anything that had autobiographical bits in it. They always come out vaguely awkward and embarrassing.

I loved every moment of being a decadent and dissolute bad girl. The fact that I was truly terrible at being a bad girl only made it better; I felt as if I were dipping my toes into a glamorous world of sex and drugs when we were doing nothing more than sneaking cans of beer and kissing on the futon.

(Now, the real truth is more embarrassing: I was 19 years old, and I skipped school to go shopping, and that is when I was delighted by my own transgressiveness. And then I got it out of my system and went back to being very punctual and mostly conscientious.)
