owlectomyI've read about thirteen books in fourteen days (YA books, mostly. Not a prodigious reading rate, but a pretty steady one) and something clicked all of a sudden.
It was like I could tell the difference between good writing and bad writing. Strange, since I'd always had this conception of myself as pretty decent at ideas and stories, but mediocre enough in the prose department that I couldn't even recognize good prose when I read it, never mind produce it on demand.
I wonder if this means that I know how to write any better. I'm certainly eager to find out. This, however, is the semester I have to write my stupid thesis...
