On your current playlist, hit shuffle and pick the first twenty songs on the list (no matter how cheesy or embarrassing), and write down your favourite line of the song. Try to avoid putting the song title in the line. Then, have your friends comment and see if they know the songs.

(Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] rahaeli)

I'm including the Japanese ones, with translations. There are definitely some cheesy ones here. Also editing out places of two songs by the same artist, instrumentals, etc.

1. Ashita no koto wa yoku wakaranai sore demo mirai no koto nara wakaru
(I don't really know about tomorrow, but I know about the future)
2. And the sky might catch on fire and burn the axis of the world
3. Nagareru toki no naka de taenai kizu dakishime setsunasa no kaze ni mau
(Holding onto endless wounds in time flowing by, I dance in the wind of loneliness)--if I can't find a deep lyric, I may as well find the cheesiest one possible!
4. Every now and then I get a little bit terrified, and then I see the look in your eyes
5. They say we learn from our mistakes then we carry on; sometimes I'm not sure, sometimes I'm not sure
6. Not counting the unmarked paths of misdirection, my compass faith in love's perfection, I missed a million miles of road I should have seen
7. Oy to the world, and everybody wins
8. I've invested too much time to give you up that easy to the doubts that complicate your mind
9. Kikime no nai jumon de shukufuku o Karuku natta atama de utaitai
(Lightheaded, I want to chant blessings with a useless spell)
10. Akaku togatta doriru shinzou ni kuikondeku safaia no himei to tomo ni
(A sharp red drill eats into your heart with a sapphire scream)
11. Aa, semenai de shinjitsu no kisu o
(Ah, don't blame me for my sincere kiss)
12. On Sussex Drive in hallowed halls we act like gaurds in shopping malls, it's such a pain; like someone's plotting to kill the minister of Sports and Recreation, now that's insane
13. When there's no getting over that rainbow, when the smallest of dreams won't come true, I can take all the madness the world has to give
14. To riding your bike mid-day past the three-piece suits, to fruits, to no absolutes
15. Did no one have the answers when you hung your head to pray?
16. Kizutsuita kuroi tsubasa tsuki no akari ni terasarete utsukushiku maiagare
(Wounded black wings glimmer beautifully as they soar in the light of the moon)
17. Don't look back, you're safe now...Unlock your heart, drop your guard, no one's left to stop you...
18. I'll wear shades on sunless days and when the sun's out, I'll stay in and slumber
19. Te wo nobashi kaze wo kanji amatsubu wo kanji kagami wo tatakiwaru no ni
(I'll stretch out my hand, feel the pain, feel the raindrops, to break the mirror)
20. The moon was a ghostly galleon, tossed upon the cloudy seas

Are we supposed to guess now? Or just see how many we know?
#4 -- don't know the title, but know the song-- that turn around song.
#7 -- No Doubt, right? Oy to the world-- can you send me the mp3? Can you make me another CD of stuff, actually?
#8 -- we belong? Don't know the song title.. but I could sing it all probably... no, definitely. Just can't think of the title right now.
#14-- La Vie Boheme-- Rent.
#15-- Melissa Etheridge-- Shriner's Park?

I will be doing this meme later... I'm sure you'll be able to get more of mine than I did of yours.

Yeah, I'm not really expecting anyone to get too many, what with the Japanese songs. Close enough. Don't you have the Very Special Christmas CD with that on it? I thought you did. I can send you a CD, though. I'm not sure what you'd like that I have that I haven't sent you yet. '70s Canadian folk music? I could post my playlist but it's around 300 songs.

Oh, and...

Right on all counts. Pretty much.
"Total Eclipse of the Heart," Bonnie Tyler
"Oy to the World," No Doubt
"We Belong," Pat Benatar
And you got the other two.
