I'm not an American citizen, and this is the citizenship oath I'd have to take to become one.

I don't feel like I could say it and be telling the truth.

I think Jessica Mitford was a US citizen (by marriage) at the time the University of California asked her to take a loyalty oath and she refused: shenanigans ensued (though that is pretty much a given once the name Mitford is mentioned).
