meganbmoore and telophase about NPR's top 100 list of science fiction/fantasy books.
I think this is a pretty mediocre list and most of the Tolkien-imitator long-series high fantasy has no place on it. You'll note I haven't actually read most of it, so I'm not in a position to divide the ones that belong from the ones that don't.
Most of these that I've read, I read when I was a teenager and thought I had something to prove by reading classic SF. I think my tastes are not well-aligned with the mainstream. :\
Bold the ones you've read, italicize the ones you fully intend to read someday. If it's a series and you've read one or more, but not all of the books, underline it.
