My reflex reaction is 'They made over $46,000 in book sales in ten months???' Stunningly successful fundraising, that.

And he wrote down the actual amount but banked a different sum? No aptitude for crime at all.

If anywhere can pull in $46,000 in book sales, it's the Upper West Side.

We had a fundraiser recently, over about a 3-month period. Our target was $2500. We got... somewhere around $40.

I think that anyone clever enough to be a *good* embezzler probably should not be a public library clerk, but I could be wrong!
