9/8/09 09:39The trouble with making socks is that I have to upsize them to compensate for the hugeness of my feet. But you can't just say, "Oh, my foot's 10.5 inches around, 8 stitches to the inch, so it has to be 84 stitches," since they also need to be fairly snug to stay up on your leg.
Plus, I never knit straight from the pattern -- I pick a yarn, and pick out the needles I need to use to get a good gauge, and just math it out to how many stitches it should turn out to be.
Well, nothing to be done but unravel and try again.
