Tell me you're kidding.
26/4/07 06:27US-Japan relations are presently strained by efforts in the US Congress to pass Resolution 121 in the House of Representatives. The bipartisan bill would demand Japan's renewed apology to so-called "comfort women" -- women that were allegedly forced into prostitution by the Japanese military during World War II.
Do I think that Japan needs to apologize in a way that isn't weaselly and ambiguous? Yes.
Do I think that a country that has a lot of past it hasn't dealt with well, and that is trying to weasel into making torture legal, and that is engaged in an immoral war, ought to be telling them what to do? Nggaaaah.
Only if Japan gets to pass a resolution that the US needs to apologize, fifty years hence.
