Just so we're clear on this, it would be a BAD idea for me to use up all the rest of my vacation time to take a whirlwind trip to Japan and visit the old silk filature that's been preserved as a heritage site. For research.

And I am more likely to fix my book by actually fixing my book.

ETA Oh, gosh, airfare is cheaper than I thought it was. Now I actually have to think about it. (Never mind that getting out to Tomioka and then Takarazuka would add up to Not So Cheap...)

That's not research; that's just because I really want to see a Takarazuka show the next time I'm in Japan.

Though on second thought if I'm going to be hanging around Tokyo I could always go to the Takarazuka theatre there if I need to save time and money. However, the Osaka one is having the Scarlet Pimpernel in April, whereas the Tokyo one is having something about the founder of the Red Cross. I'm sure it would not be as boring as it sounds, but I'd have to go with the Scarlet Pimpernel.

I hope it's easier getting tickets than in my day. Posters announcing the next Taka production at the Imperial Theatre used to go up with 'Sold out-- thank you!' already printed on them. Back then the fan clubs bought the tickets in blocks and doled them out to members, but maybe that's just a Tokyo phenomenon.

It looks kind of possible as long as I reserve in advance and don't mind a bad seat -- I'd probably have to either get one of those auction proxy services and bid on Yahoo, or wait till I get to Japan and hope that I can get a ticket sometime in the subsequent couple days at Lawson or one of the ticket places.

I'm thinking about this way too much for something that continues to be a bad idea.
