11/8/09 19:29We have consistently paid our electric bills since we moved in. Not to the landlord, but directly to the electric company.
The property management company, however, has not paid their electric bill.
To the tune of over $400.
They're going to shut off our electricity if it doesn't get paid in the next two weeks.
There is much cursing.

12/8/09 00:08 (UTC)I think they had to change some kind of rule here so that in this case people's utility couldn't be shut off, because it's become so commonplace.
Gah!

12/8/09 00:55 (UTC)If you can, check to see if all electricity in the building is going to be turned off, or just the common areas (hallways, etc). On 129th it was just going to be the public areas. By the sound of the amount, they must just be paying for hallways/ garbage area. Yes, hallways having no lighting would be bad, but not as bad as having no electricity at all. And- you know this, but- the property management company deserves all the cursing you are doing, so go at it!
