owlectomyOne of the things I love about writing a romance subplot: right at the beginning when the characters in question don't have any reason to like each other, and in fact seem to dislike each other quite strongly, but there's an electricity to their dislike of each other.
It is possible to do this very badly (see: 90% of romantic comedies).
Also there is Angsty Unspoken Subtext, which it is also possible to do very badly. But it's such fun.
