As of yesterday, the stitches are out, the bandage is off, and I've been returned to normal activities.

I actually have more motion in the finger than I expected. Whether that means I'll get my full range of strength and motion back eventually, I don't know. But even if I don't, it's no great loss -- I may not be able to play the piano but I think I may be able to manage a recorder; martial arts would probably be hard if I can't make a fist; I'll certainly never be a hand model (though I have to say, the scar looks better than I expected, too.)

It still feels pretty uncomfortable at times, but my doctor told me not to baby it. And I can basically type at normal speeds again, for which I can only cheer.

Woo hoo! So glad it's going better than expected- And I'm sure you'll be able to pick up your choice of a variety of instruments that don't require a right pinky. Drums? Guitar? The possibilities aren't endless, but they aren't that limited either.

If it's drums, I think I'd have to move to that cabin in northern Ontario. ;)
