For personal reference, Things Which I Want:

-Shoes.
Do I actually need?
Yeah, kind of. Mine have started to fall apart.

-Eye exam and glasses.
Do I actually need?
I'm not sure whether my eyes are actually worse than they were, but it's been over 2 years, so it couldn't hurt. Need to call up my union about this.

-Costume for Diana's party.
Do I actually need?
Well, I can hardly go without a costume, but I'm shuddering to think how much it's going to cost. (Actually, I made up an excuse for going without a costume, but she might be Not Amused.)

-Netbook.
Do I actually need?
I need to discard the illusion that I am going to make any meaningful progress on the subway in the morning.

-Knitting accessories.
Do I actually need?
Cheap enough so that I don't have to try TOO hard to justify it, but -- no, I do not need. Except, when I do lace, I sort of do.

Ack! I always have costume woes. It's just so dang expensive for one night.
Unless you go as a ninja. Because you could probably use that later for a book signing.
