Why do I feel like I'm in a third-rate episode of House?

Was that needlessly overdramatic? That was needlessly overdramatic. I thought I was going to get scheduled for surgery but the doctor was like, "Hey, you've had three fractures in the past three years, maybe there's something wrong with your parathyroid?"

And just today word came from On High that we could be disciplined for having too many LEGITIMATE MEDICALLY NECESSARY absences, so I'm annoyed at having to take another half-day for a doctor's appointment and drag this thing out even further.

Have they considered the possibility that you're just clumsy?

(I mean, obviously not with the latest thing. But, you know, other times.)

Yes. But if something's wrong with my parathyroid, I won't need this surgery at all -- I may need a completely different kind of surgery! -- so I guess it might be good to make sure.

Really, though! Don't do surgery on my neck! I need my neck for things! Do surgery on my hand!

Disciplined for too many *legit* medical absences? Isn't that unconstitutional or illegal or something?

I'm confused. Don't you still have a tumor in your bone whether something's wrong with your parathyroid or not? I guess this is why I'm not a doctor...

Apparently, if it's something wrong with my parathyroid, then if we fix my parathyroid my bone will get better on its own without surgery.

Well, that's good news, at least. I mean, I guess. Where's House when you need him? I mean, where's a gentler, nicer House when you need him?

At least they're not trying to stop your heart even though it's just for a "test" to prove the hot lead doctor's "theory." :)
