I am about 32 pages from the end of my first-pass revisions -- 32 pages, and two weeks. What I really feel like is pressing through the end as quickly as possible so I can go back and look at how the whole thing balances and fits together, and fix that up. I would really like to take a couple of days off from writing when I'm done with that, but I'm not sure I can afford that luxury.

Went to the MoMA on Saturday; they were having a Van Gogh exhibit, which was unexpectedly crowded (we lined up at 10:30, got an entry ticket for 3:30, got into the exhibit itself at 4:00... and the room must have been right at full capacity; it was hard to move in there.) The Van Goghs were great, of course, but I think I might have appreciated the contemporary art more, just because it was so unfamiliar. And also, I wasn't yet tired from walking around the museum.

Sometimes I get nervous that U.S. culture will accomodate cell phones in a way that I can't easily adapt to. But seriously, using a cell phone in an immersive multimedia experience in an art museum? That is so very not right.

That's what I like to do too, except once I'm done the revising I just end up staring at the pages and can't properly take in the balance and fit. I always end up handing it back and telling my editors that I can't see it and to tell me if what I did worked.
