owlectomyHaving my wallet stolen (apparently) at a time when nearly all of my identification and money was in one pocket or another rather than inside the wallet;
The G train;
Health insurance;
All these strange people who believed me capable of writing a readable novel, who've helped me or encouraged me or responded in any way at all besides "Hey I'm going to write a novel someday! Here's what it's about..." -- not excluding my agent and my editor, naturally;
My great apartment, my roommate, and the odd confluence of circumstances that put us here;
My friends; my family.
This is a year when it feels like I'm harvesting things I planted a while ago and cared for haphazardly not really daring to hope that they would come up.
