owlectomyOH HAI I did that thing where I type out a lot of angst until I feel better, so you get the executive summary.
(1) If I feel that it's unfair that my roommate smokes pot and I'm not allowed to light candles in my apartment, the obvious solution is to light candles anyway.
(2) If you live in New York it's easy to get envious of people who have a lot of money. It's a city that does conspicuous consumption well... or if not well, certainly a lot. Even though at work I mostly come into contact with people who don't have anything close to that kind of money, and I have everything I really want except no roommates, I'm letting the slim chance that I could get published get to me a lot more than I should.
(3) I need to do edits, and that's okay, but I need a new title and that's really hard. I came up with a dozen silly ones to see if that would shake something loose, and maybe it did.
