I was just thinking that I hadn't posted anything in a while; and I had a lot of reasonably cheerful things to say about the city, and the job, and so forth; and then the apartment that I thought I had fell through on me.

I'm being sort of unreasonably anxious right now because I have zero chance of finding anything before Feb. 1st (I have restaurant reservations for Restaurant Week tonight, and a concert Thursday, both of which I wouldn't cancel on for the world). Most likely, I'll have to get some storage space because I'm bringing up a U-Haul on the 10th or 11th, and my lease is ending, and there's nothing I can do about that part; that'll be a hassle, but there are worse things. I guess it would be worse to get into a living situation that I ended up hating just because I felt panicked.

The commute's really getting to me, though.

Oh no! I'm sorry. I thought the apartment was already certain, since you mentioned it a while ago. That really sucks! (I was even going to ask, since you said Ridgewood, if you were near the M--there's a bus line that runs past my apartment that goes to the M ;)

Good luck finding something else. Augh.

Well, I'm still holding out hope for that general area near the end of the M - it's the nicest area I've looked at that's affordable, and a reasonable commute, and close to my sister's place. But now that I've resigned myself to renting storage for a month or two, things are looking less panicky...
