So here I am in my sister's apartment in Queens-- having just found an AWESOME apartment in Ridgewood, nice neighborhood, close to the train-- and I am singing along to the Rent soundtrack with her. ("Sisters?" "We're close.") And finding an apartment means that I get to Kinokuniya and pick up the first volume of Miyuki Miyabe's "Brave Story," the translation of which just won the Batchelder award for translated young people's literature, but I wouldn't read the translation, would I? I mean, it's VIZ.

I am having a New York moment here.
