Happy New Year, everybody!

Me and B. made dinner (which is officially a Tradition now, and I think we have to keep doing it until we've at least done a full cycle of 12 zodiac animals): Ratatouille (which turned out FABULOUS, I'm going to keep that in my repertoire because it's super-easy and makes eggplant and zucchini taste good), cheese platter, stir-fried green beans, broccoli rabe oshitashi, carrot and radish salad, tamago, rice balls, potato pancakes, chocolate mochi, a gelee of champagne and berries (which didn't actually gel; first time using agar powder, so better luck next time, hopefully), and.

Chocolate martini.

Which we reduced to 1/2 chilled hot chocolate and 1/2 chocolate martini, at my request, because "this is going to be a little bit strong."

I still managed to drink just a thimbleful of it. But that is the good stuff.

This year I would like to accomplish less, be more playful, do more that I don't think is a good idea. That is my only resolution, though I still would like to do a half century on my bike if circumstances allow.
