I may or may not post full details of my latest book-haul later. I have a volume of the Saiunkoku Monogatari novel series, which I bought because the cover said it would be entertaining high fantasy with lots of pretty in it, and hilariously complicated character/plot entanglements.

When you are buying a book with hilariously complicated character/plot entanglements, it may not be the smartest idea to buy volume 12 in the series. Oops.

They've posted the JLPT info on the website. Details:
Sunday, Dec. 2
1:00 to 5:10
1130 Amsterdam Ave., NYC.

1:00 to 5:10! That's my whole day. It's only a 3-hour test; the rest is breaks and administrative stuff. But I'm not entirely sure about my ability to concentrate for that long. I do study, but usually just for half an hour at a time while watching Law & Order. I really can't read for very long in Japanese before things start to get blurry in my mind. Anyway, I am glad to see that it's not at the crack of dawn or something; it's a far hike from Queens, and besides, I sort of wanted to go out to Barcade Saturday night to party just a wee little bit.

I lost a week of studying time and am behind again. I will make up for it this weekend.

Depending on where your sister lives in Sunnyside, it might be a bit quicker to take the Long Island Rail Road (from a few stops east in Woodside), which'll get you into Penn Station in probably about 10-15 min. (it's about 15-20 minutes from Kew Gardens, which is further out) & then you just have to hop on the subway uptown. It might not be quicker (& it'll cost more--but not much, like $4) than just taking the subway--just throwing it out there for you. :)

And yeah, wow, that is a long testing day!!!
