My car was stolen.

What can I say? Thank goodness I'm 25 and can now rent a car. Thank goodness my taxi took me to the library on time so that I could open up the library. Thank goodness that I'd rather have an insurance check for the value of the car, than the car itself (though I know it won't necessarily work out that way).

But, ah. This is one of those situations where it's not so easy to find a silver lining.

Hopefully yours just got taken for a joyride. I had an '86 Monte Carlo back in the mid-nineties and it got stolen and that's all it was. The cops found it left in some lady's front yard. Other than the outer shell of the steering column being shattered so they could hotwire it, not a thing was damaged. They didn't even see all the change I'd left in the ashtray!
