I have not, in fact, leveled up. But I get the impression that either (a) my boss no longer thinks that I am dumb or (b) my boss wants to reassure me that I am not, in fact, dumb. My performance review is this Friday, and I have no idea what's going to happen with that, so I'm still anxious--but less anxious than I was. (Librarians do have levels, and can level up-- a lot of systems have Librarian I, II, III, and IV-- but Librarian IIs usually have at least 3 years of experience, so I'm not expecting a level-up.)
And if you carry that analogy a bit too far, getting hugged by a gaggle of preschool kids is surely finding a +5 sword. I is ded from cute.
