Not that being accountable to my Livejournal seems to help me stick with things (Hi novel! I miss you! Oh, Kanji Kentei study book! I am totally going to get back to you very soon now!), but:

I shall attempt to bike to Lothlorien, having made it to Rivendell in March of last year. But my bike computer is broken, so I'm just doing a straight 10-miles-per-hour guesstimate.

8.5 miles: I reach the Fort of Brúinen, turn south on ‘narrow paths among folded lands’.

But how do you do that? What if you've ridden five miles and there's nothing remotely resembling the Redhorn? Do you just keep riding? Do you camp out for the whole trip?

Well, considering that for the moment I'm using the stationary bike in my apartment complex... ;) I shall have to rely on my vivid imagination to provide the scenery. It is for motivation and a way of tracking my progress.

In that case, you might want to try envisioning a *ford* instead of a fort. You're heading for a lowland area where the Anduin is shallow enough to be crossed on foot or horseback. Or, in this case, stationary bicycle. :-)
