On NPR they said that some pseudoscientific entity has said yesterday is the most depressing day of the year-- because of unsuccessful resolutions, Christmas bills coming due, etc.

I nominate today, instead. I slashed open the seat of my last pair of good pants whilst crawling inside the bookdrop to retrieve a Star Wars novel that had fallen to the ground. And did a hack job on the mending. And I shall have to spend my free morning tomorrow calling around to see if I can find tall pants in my size, when I already have all kinds of angst about having spent too much money this month. And besides, there must be some correlation between GWB's speechifying and a day's depressingness...
