Miscallanea
27/10/06 12:13My raven came! He sheds, but aside from that--wow, I love Folkmanis puppets. He's bigger than he looks from the picture, with scraggly black feathers and pleather claws and flappable wings.
I can more or less read hangul now (individual syllables are fine; some of the phonological rules, not so fine). I've picked up a couple of bilingual picture books, from which I've learned "rabbit," "turtle," and "dragon king," and have vague intuitions about the meanings of a couple particles. I don't have any particular reason for playing around with Korean, except that the library got sent some Korean books, and I still haven't gotten around to ordering the Chinese dictionary that I like. And also because it's more amusing than the sequel to Twilight, in which the protagonist's brains have been replaced by a small pile of bricks.
