A good thing about my job

Since book-buying decisions are left to the Library Administration people, our library doesn't get Publishers Weekly or any of the other new-book magazines; and I haven't even subscribed to Horn Book yet, though I will one of these days after I get paid. But I do get the employee-listserv "These are the books we just ordered" e-mail, and the employee-listserv "These are the books that have just come in" e-mail, and suddenly I feel very clued-in to all the new books that I want.

Like, why didn't anyone tell me there was a new Tim Powers books?
