As of now, I have heard more about the Canadian election on the satirical fake news show The Daily Show than on CNN (and if it had been on CNN, I would've known; I keep it on until I can can be bothered to get off my butt in the morning).

But then, Canada does have a puzzling amount of humor value in the US. It's not that Canada humor offends me. It often strikes me as funny. It's just that "Canada" seems to be used in much the same way as, say, "monkeys," and I don't know why Canada should be an inherently amusing country.
