From the beginning--the first draft was on the home computer, and I thought I just might improve on it if I restarted from scratch. There are a lot of words I don't know, and words that WWWJDIC doesn't know, so I'm spending a little time in the library with about forty pounds of dictionary.
UNC's holdings aren't what McGill's are, but they're fairly adequate--they have the 20-volume kokugo dictionary, and that's more than I'll ever need. Thank goodness for the internet, though--the literary criticism essay quotes Baudelaire, a poem that I was able to dig up in the original French after less than a minute of searching. I remember spending three hours on the same task once, for a Rosetti poem, and eventually gave up.
