I have three extant CD-Rs of my undergrad writing. In spite of that, I have no complete file for my second novel, or my third, and nothing at all for the one that I did for NaNo2003 that wasn't actually that good and I didn't finish.
Not that what I've lost is that great or anything, but still...it's regrettable. And the hard drive has since crashed, and been wiped, and there's probably nothing to recover even if I wanted to spend the money.
