It's Katamari. It's a lot of the same things as the first game, but unique enough to be well worth the price.

There are a few little touches to improve playability: a couple new view modes that I don't really have the hang of, and a tweak to fix the bug where a barrier would occasionally make you unable to see anything. The music is all new and, by and large, a little less catchy. The graphics are exactly the same as the first game, but it's not like the graphics were ever one of the big attractions.

The concept of the game is kind of fun: everyone loves Katamari Damacy so much that they're bugging the King of the Cosmos to roll up new things for them, and of course the King is very susceptible to flattery. There are a fair amount of "standard" levels that look a lot like the levels in the first game, but I've played the underwater mode (you have to avoid getting caught on the fish hooks!) and the classroom mode, which are fun.

Especially neat are the challenges; my favorite so far is the one where you're rolling around a sumo wrestler who starts at 50kg and gains weight (and gets chubbier) as you roll up food!

The King of the Cosmos is as hilariously verbally abusive as ever, but you get to see some of his tragic(?) backstory too, in the "story" that plays out between the levels. It's a bit more of a story than we got in the last game, anyway.

And now I have to rip myself away from it to sew things.

Oh, Meaghan? We now have a title for our cosplay.

Too funny. Too, too, too, funny. My coworkers are staring at me.

I bought Katamari last night too. I had a terrible (no, really) day at work and I couldn't resist. I didn't get a chance to play it too much- just for about 30 mins- but got to the underwater level, which is my favorite so far.

On the costuming front: I am forgetful, which should come as a surprise to no one. Forgot to get hair falls; Will bring a curler to the convention (it's lightweight and portable). Forgot to get a petticoat; I have an off-white skirt which will work as a slip in a pinch, though I am going to try to see if there's a local place to buy one from. I don't have enough time to trust internet shipping. Sorry... Our cosplay will still roxor... I promise...

We love katamari!
