...is one of the vidyarajas, the Shingon's Radiant Kings of Wisdom. A bright, bittersweet scent honoring the Japanese Deity of Love and Passion. Yuzu, kaki, and mikan with cherry blossom and black tea.
Kaki are persimmons, mikan are mandarin oranges, yuzu is another kind of Japanese citrus fruit.
In the bottle this smells overwhelmingly sweet and fruity, lots of citrus, so that you get occasional whiffs of Orange Pledge--but the different fruits blend well together.
Wet: Lots of citrus, and something slightly dark and musky. It's a very intense scent, but pleasant, and just a little reminiscent of a Japanese fruit market--yum!
Dry: Very nice, if perhaps just a little too citrusy for me. It is indeed bright and bittersweet, and while I can't pick out either the cherry blossom or black tea, you know they're there because of the darkness that offsets the fruitiness. I'm still undecided about whether I want to wear that Japanese-fruit-market smell, but it's such a happy smell.
