1) Walking home from the grocery store, two girls maybe 9 years old sit down at the picnic table beside me and start talking about whom they had been called sluts by.
2) A pile of newsletters I'm to bind contains a bunch of issues of the KKK newsletter. I don't disapprove of the university for buying it--I'm sure that it's very useful for researchers as a picture of what contemporary racism looks like, and I would assume that the collection development people have assessed whether they're financially supporting the KKK by buying the newsletter. But I still can't get over the visceral "Ew, ew, ew" reaction. It breaks my brain to think that people still think this way.
I think I need an icon that doesn't have a stupid grin on it.
