Costume photojournalism: Running with Scissors

Beginning to lay out the pieces. I find that I have run out of pins, so I end up doing these gradually instead of all at once--just as well, since I don't have a proper sewing table.

Starting to iron on interfacing. Lucky me, I got both the iron and the ironing board free from parents.

Having cut out the bodice pieces and interfaced some of them, they are laid out...

And pinned together for an initial fitting.

I have fabric to make kimonos, but it's so hot outside that the thought of WEARING one keeps me from getting them made!
