owlectomyDewey is the finely designed and crafted delicate precision machine that returns very, very nice results a certain percentage of the time and collapses under the weight of too much work.
LC is the ugly, creaky behemoth of a system put together with tacky glue and duct tape that clunks along, but works.
LC gets points because there's a place in the catalog for "ugliness in men," of all things.
But I still prefer Dewey's elegance. And, since I'm not going into academic libraries, so much the better.
