Kamishibai, literally, paper theater. A form of storytelling that flourished in Japan from about 1930 to the 1950s. Which means, of course, war propaganda! Anyway, you've got about 20 picture cards, and they tell a story, and there's a script written on the back. And in 1942 that script would be something like:

Ryuuhei: I wanna be a pilot just like dad!
Ryuuta: No, I wanna be a pilot just like dad!
Ryuuhei: Can't we both be pilots just like dad and fight for our glorious mother country?
Ryuuta: No, 'cause then we'll both die, and who'll take care of mom?
Ryuuhei: Aww. I'm sad now.
Mom: Ryuuta, Ryuuhei's sad. What's going on?
Ryuuta: I wouldn't let him be a pilot and die for our glorious mother country, because someone has to take care of you.
Mom: Silly Ryuuta! Don't you know that I want nothing more than to let every single person I love get shot down fighting the Americans? You can both be pilots.
Ryuuta and Ryuuhei: Yaaaay! We love you, mom!
