Yet more writing, thought not much

The story is up to 3500 words, and I have no idea why it's taking so long--it's a very very bad sign if I have to force myself to write, but at the same time, I like this story. It's just hard. It's always hard, isn't it?

I like it enough to try to get caught up with Critters (I have been slacking off very mightily). Critters, for those who don't know, is an online writing workshop, and you need to do a critique 3 weeks out of 4 to stay in and have your own stories critiqued, and I haven't exactly been doing so... but I will try. Because I firmly believe that critiquing other people will help my own writing improve as well. It had better!
