There is a "handshake deal" on the budget, and it's -- provisionally -- a lot better than anticipated. Certainly nowhere near the "350 layoffs, 16 branches closed" worst-case scenario.

These last few months have been stressy as all get-out. It can stop any time now, thanks!

Thanks! I'm feeling okay right now -- they're saying they might not have to close any libraries, and we're so understaffed as it is that I don't know how we could have any layoffs and keep all the branches open, but I'll just have to wait and see.
