My New Year's Resolution is:

Figure out how to get better at building/finding community locally.

I wish I knew how to do it. It's not easy to be an introvert in a big city where you feel like everybody else is hipper and richer, and I've been to one too many meetups and book events where I've been status-gamed and networked to death.

But difficult is not the same as impossible.

I was in a similar situation last year, & so I hope you have better luck than I did!

This is hard indeed!! I should make this one of my resolutions. ^^;;; Tho it's hard to commit myself to trying to build community when I feel like ideally I've got one foot halfway out the door (tho in reality this is probably not yet the case).
