owlectomyThe Saturday before last, FedEx made a "delivery attempt," which is in quotes because the attempt was made while the library was open for business.
The next Tuesday, they made another attempt. This time the library actually was closed; there should've been staff in the building, but they may have all been in the basement and not heard the doorbell, I don't know. (Apparently I'm the only one who can hear the doorbell from the basement, or else everybody pretends not to, and then I end up having to run up the stairs and open up the door for people even when I'm off the clock. It irritates me.)
They left a door tag that was not in the system.
Wednesday, they tried again but at 7:30, everyone had already left.
Friday, the package said "out for delivery" so I ended up waiting... for an hour outside the library after we had closed. Finally when I reloaded the tracking page it informed me that they had made a "delivery attempt" at 2:00. When we were open, and I was sitting at the front desk.
This is the point where I started to get irritated. I hit up regular FedEx customer service, I begged for help on Twitter, finally someone promised that they would deliver it on Saturday.
And it never even got in the truck.
Monday I accidentally left home without my phone. While I was out I got a call from the local FedEx facility saying that they had too many failed delivery attempts and they weren't going to try anymore and I was going to have to come pick it up. Alas, I did not get this message until the local facility was already closed.
This morning, I called them up at 7:30 to tell them my whole long story and ask them to deliver it one more time. They said they were going to talk to the driver and call me back.
So, you know, nothing happened, and I didn't call back until 9:30 because I was on the bus to work. At which point they said they were going to try again on Wednesday, but now it was too late in the day to put it on the truck.
I have emailed the seller to ask if I can just have a refund if they don't deliver it on Wednesday.
Don't use the FedEx in Maspeth, folks.
