Er. Status quo obviously not great, but after seeing so many library cuts in California for years, this is nice to hear.

It is definitely a lot nicer than I had expecting -- the first budget proposal had a $33 million budget cut for BPL.

I didn't expect it to be that bad, because they always propose terrible cuts and then revise them to less terrible cuts so they can say "Look, we didn't cut as much as we said we were going to!", but I sure didn't expect it to be this good.
