26/5/09 03:33I'm home! I'm sleepy! I will post more later!
I'M TRYING OUT LINUX.
So, there was this netbook panel, right? And about 80% of the people, not just on the panel but in the audience, were running some flavor of Linux. I think it was K. Tempest Bradford who recommended thumbdrivelinux as a nifty way to install Linux on a thumb drive just to try it out without having to mess with partitions or ERASING YOUR WHOLE HARD DRIVE OH NOES. I didn't catch the name of the woman with pink-streaked hair who evangelized to me about Linux for a bit. There was something she said about how Linux manages program updates that struck me as nifty. So, I thought maybe I can try that out. And it turns out, I can try that out!
OpenOffice has been my main writing program anyway of late, both on my netbook and on my Mac, and if my netbook use is limited to writing, internet stuff, and FreeCell -- well, why not, right?
I feel like I'm standing on the edge of a giant precipice of geekness.
