Now that I've accumulated a bunch of overtime, I get to [technically, I have to, but what a hardship!) take a day off during the week for every Saturday I work. I like this. It allows me to go to places that are only open during the week (like the bank) and places I would normally avoid on the weekend because of all the people.

Times Square is never a good idea, actually, even on a weekday.

I got my hair cut! Hooray! Because the last time I cut my hair was either a little bit before or a little bit after the previous Wiscon, so it had been close to a year. It's a big change and I like how it came out.

I did a lot of meandering. I spent about four hours on my feet altogether, and by the end of it I was really glad to get a seat on the subway.

I worked on my socks. By now I've ripped out the pair I'm working on four times or so, and each time is bringing me closer to the platonic ideal of a sock. At the moment, this feels like way too much trouble to go to for something that one can buy for a dollar at a drugstore. The tempting supply of colorful sock yarn convinced me to try it out, but I'll have to reserve judgement on whether I would ever want to do this again.
