I just realized something: for the past two summers, "I got a mosquito bite in an embarrassing and/or hard-to-reach spot" has not been a topic of conversation.
I do not have a lawn, so the seriousness of the drought we've been having in the Triangle has been an abstract thing; I was aware of it, but it didn't impact my life in any way.
Frankly, it's a bit disconcerting to be feeling that impact, even if I'm really happy not to be mosquito-bitten lately...
