An adventurer is me!
2/6/07 14:50I suspect that geocaching is a game invented by real outdoorsy people in order to make technophilic yuppies injure themselves and look dumb.
The idea of geocaching is that somebody hides a box of stuff and uploads the coordinates to the internet, and other people have to try and find it.
So, today, I rode my bike the half-mile towards a nearby cache, spent a good hour pricking myself on thorny branches and getting bitten by ticks before I decided I'd combed the same area of ground too many times and should just go home. I got turned around (naturally) and before I knew it I was lost and further from the path than I had been. Finally I stopped wandering around in circles and figured out how to get my GPS to guide me to the last place I'd been before I left the trail...
On my way back, I saw a little green camo box by the roots of a tree.
I need to wash my clothes now. But at least it wasn't a trip in vain.
