To market, to market
18/4/07 18:59Well. That was an exertion. Not so much for the hills (though they sure were a barrel of fun) as for the hauling my bike up a flight of stairs and back down again-- and then up on its hooks.
And the way my front brakes cut out while I was on a busy street was good for some adrenaline.
Since I have been cycling I have held the belief that you should not ride your bike on the sidewalk. It terrifies the pedestrians, and besides, you should Assert Your Right To Use The Roadway. I still believe this. However, I believe even more strongly that I don't want to die-- so, for my return trip, on which I have to make three consecutive left turns across traffic, yes I am going to ride on the sidewalks. Though I will dismount and walk my bike if I come across any pedestrians.
Can I make this work? Maybe.
